CAFRE Walled Garden 25

This show garden honours the rich heritage of the 1801-built garden, famous for its formal structure, colourful borders, and unique features such as a knot garden, maze, and a bronze sculpture. Originally revitalised as part of a landmark public-private partnership, this garden is a living testament to craftsmanship, education, and the enduring beauty of classic garden design.


David Domoney’s Garden in Glass Exhibition

Friends of Antrim Castle Gardens
As part of Things to See at Garden Show Ireland, the Friends of Antrim Castle Gardens will be showcasing their incredible work. This volunteer group, passionate about gardening, heritage, and community, supports local people through activities that promote learning, wellbeing, and connection.
Eco Garden
Visit their Eco Garden, featuring creative uses of recycled and repurposed materials transformed into beautiful, sustainable garden features—perfect for eco-friendly inspiration.
Greenhouse & Production Area Tours
Their working greenhouse and production area will be open daily from 10am–12pm and 2pm–4pm, with guided tours explaining what they’ve grown and the positive impact of their community gardening projects.


David Domoney’s Wheelbarrow Garden Challenge
Get ready for a blockbuster burst of creativity in David Domoney’s Wheelbarrow Garden Challenge! Organised by the renowned TV gardener himself, this fun and imaginative competition invites schools and community groups to transform ordinary wheelbarrows into spectacular mini gardens—all themed around their favourite movies.
Expect to see lush tributes to classics like The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Jurassic Park, Frozen, and even Star Wars—all cleverly brought to life with plants, props, and plenty of personality.
David Domoney will lead the expert judging panel, joined by sponsor Richard Fry and the Mayor, as they choose their top picks from the incredible entries.
You can have your say too—cast your vote for the People’s Favourite and help crown this year’s most imaginative wheelbarrow garden!
Inside the Flower Farmers Marquee
Step into a world of colour and creativity in the NIFFA Flower Farmers Marquee, hosted this year by Andy McCormick of Sow Grateful. This beautifully decorated floral hub, a highlight of the event each year, will be filled with locally grown blooms and inspiring arrangements. Past showstoppers included the iconic pots on sticks display and last year’s enchanting wild floral bench swing—what will this year’s centrepiece be? Come along and find out!
The marquee will feature a series of workshops and demonstrations, perfect for flower lovers, gardening enthusiasts, and curious creatives of all ages.


Really Rubbish Scarecrow Woods
Come See the Really Rubbish Scarecrows! They’re wobbly, wonky, wild—and absolutely wonderful! Swing by Garden Show Ireland to see the hilariously hopeless “Really Rubbish Scarecrows” created by primary school pupils from across the country. These delightful scarecrows aren’t much good at scaring birds—but they’re brilliant at attracting attention!
From eco-friendly creations to the quirkiest, most imaginative designs, each scarecrow is competing for fun prizes like Best in Show, Most Eco-Friendly, Most Imaginative, Quirkiest and Best at Attracting Birds. Don’t miss this joyful, family-friendly display that’s full of charm, creativity, and a whole lot of rubbish!
NIGFAS Floral Art Pavilion
Step into a world of creativity and colour in the NIGFAS Floral Art Pavilion, where 10 local Floral Art Clubs showcase their skills with a themed display:
“A Garden Buffet Table Setting”.
Each arrangement features garden-grown flowers and foliage from local growers—cast your vote for your favourite!
