NIGFAS Family Friendly Activities

Northern Ireland Group of Flower Arrangement Societies will be returning to Home and Garden Show will an exciting line up of entertainment for visitors.

Among demos and talks for adults, a fun line-up of flower related crafts will be hosted for children across the weekend, free of charge.

These activities will take place throughout the day except during talks and demos.

K9 Search and Rescue

K9 Search and Rescue are a Northern Ireland based charity comprising of a highly trained team of 24 search technicians / handlers and 13 dogs. They locate vulnerable missing persons and have been deployed to disaster zones to assist in the rescue and location of victims including the earthquake in Turkey.

They are an invaluable resource who are tasked to assist and locate the missing both by the emergency services or directly by families.

By attending Home and Garden Show Ireland the team hope to both raise their profile and showcase their advanced training techniques and abilities to a wider audience.

Mini Golf and Bubble Bike

Putt your way through a mini golf course that’s blooming with fun! Perfect for all ages, this playful attraction adds a splash of competition to the day out. Whether you’re a seasoned mini golfer or a first-time putter, come take on the challenge and enjoy some light-hearted fun in a beautiful setting.

The magical Bubble Bike will be roaming the showgrounds, leaving a trail of sparkling bubbles and delight wherever it goes. A hit with children (and the young at heart!), it’s a must-see moment of whimsy that brings joy and colour to your day at Home and Garden Show Ireland.

Bushcraft Adventures

Join Wild Walk Bushcraft Adventures for a journey into the prehistoric world!

Join our foraging walks to discover edible plants and hidden natural treasures growing all around us. Learn how to identify useful wild foods as you stroll through the grounds — a fascinating and relaxed experience with just a bit of gentle walking.

Get hands-on with fire craft, where you’ll learn how to create sparks and safely build and manage a fire using traditional techniques. It’s a fun and empowering session for all ages, though children must be accompanied by an adult.

Try your hand at primitive shelter building, working together to gather natural materials and construct a shelter just like our ancestors did. This active session involves some walking, lifting, and plenty of creative teamwork.

Whether you’re a budding survivalist or just looking for something different to enjoy with the kids, these sessions are a fantastic way to learn, explore, and have fun in the great outdoors!

Craft NI Workshops

Get crafty! Explore a vibrant hub of creativity where local artists and makers showcase their stunning handmade creations—perfect for unique gifts. Throughout the day, enjoy free craft workshops and live demonstrations in three locations across the Craft Village.

In Tent 1 and 2, watch the Ulster Woodturners bring wood to life with precision and passion. Over in Tent 3, see Green Woodcraft or Welig Heritage Crafts (Basketry). Inside the main marque, watch as Redsmiths Forge and the Ulster Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers do their thing throughout the weekend.

Come be inspired, get hands-on, and celebrate the artistry of Northern Ireland’s finest makers.

Choice Housing’s Really Rubbish Scarecrow Woods

Come See the Really Rubbish Scarecrows sponsored by Choice Housing! They’re wobbly, wonky, wild—and absolutely wonderful! Swing by Home and Garden Show Ireland to see the hilariously hopeless “Really Rubbish Scarecrows” created by primary school pupils from across the country. These delightful scarecrows aren’t much good at scaring birds—but they’re brilliant at attracting attention!

From eco-friendly creations to the quirkiest, most imaginative designs, each scarecrow is competing for fun prizes like Best in Show and Best at Attracting Birds. Don’t miss this joyful, family-friendly display that’s full of charm, creativity, and a whole lot of rubbish!

Quad Pod Pirate Adventure

Ahoy there, young adventurers!

Climb aboard our Quad Pod Pirate Ride, where every journey is a swashbuckling adventure.

Each beautifully crafted pod is shaped like a mini pirate boat and proudly carries its own nautical name, bringing the magic of the high seas to solid ground.

Safely towed by our powerful quad, this unique attraction lets children sit back, relax, and enjoy a scenic, fun-filled land train ride across Antrim Castle Gardens.

Bring your four-legged friend along to enjoy the Pooch Patch — a tail-wagging haven packed with fun, treats, and space to play. Whether you’re a proud pet parent or just a dog lover, this exciting area promises plenty of furry fun for all ages.

    World Of Owls

    For the first time ever, some of the amazing birds from the World of Owls in Randalstown will be coming to visit Home and Garden Show Ireland! 

    Meet and greet some fascinating owls and learn more about them.

    All the animals at World of Owls have been rescued, most of them from some horrid conditions, if you enjoy seeing them at the show, you can pay a visit to them at their home in Randalstown Forest. 

    Wheelbarrow Garden Challenge

    Back for it’s second year, we are thrilled to present the David Domoney Wheelbarrow Garden Challenge — and you’re invited to be part of the fun!

    Come along and explore a spectacular display of wheelbarrow gardens, each one designed and planted by local schools, charities, clubs, and community groups, all taking part in this creative new competition.

    This year’s theme? Songs
    From Yellow Submarine to Star Wars galaxies and fairy-tale forests, each miniature garden brings a favourite songs to life — all within the bounds of a humble wheelbarrow.

    Cast your vote for your favourite design and help crown the People’s Choice Winner! A celebration of creativity, biodiversity, and the magic of gardening in small spaces — it’s fun for all ages, and you won’t want to miss it!

    Looking for a great day out? APGAI Ireland (The Association of Professional Game Angling Instructors) is back at Home and Garden Show Ireland, offering fun and free activities for all ages!

    Try Your Hand at Fly Casting and Fly Tying
    Whether you’re a total beginner or want to brush up on your skills, our friendly expert instructors are here to help – free of charge! Come learn the art of angling in the beautiful setting of the Victorian Pleasure Gardens, right by the Six Mile Water.

    Food and Drink Experience

    Home and Garden Show Ireland isn’t just about flowers (though there will be plenty of those too!)

    The Theatre Kitchen is returning to Home and Garden Show Ireland this year brought to you in parnership with Food NI. Cooking demonstrations will be hosted by the wonderful Paula McIntyre and Suzie Lee, bringing a delicious lineup of food and drink made from the best locally sourced produce.

    From cocktail-making demos to mouth-watering snacks, the Theatre Kitchen offers a fantastic ‘Foodventure’ for all visitors to enjoy.

    Get ready to taste, learn, and savour some truly delicious creations!
