A simple, fun, creative activity that will run several times throughout each day for kids and creatives. Have a go at decorating your own unique flower crown with a range of our blooms on a full compostable crown. All supplies will be provided free of charge.
Family-friendly Seedling Activity
Get your hands in the soil and create a mini paper pot and transplant one of our seedlings to take home and grow on in your garden.
These activities will take place throughout the day except during talks and demos.

Looking for a great day out? APGAI Ireland (The Association of Professional Game Angling Instructors) is back at Garden Show Ireland, offering fun and free activities for all ages!
Try Your Hand at Fly Casting and Fly Tying
Whether you’re a total beginner or want to brush up on your skills, our friendly expert instructors are here to help – free of charge! Come learn the art of angling in the beautiful setting of the Victorian Pleasure Gardens, right by the Six Mile Water.
Father and Child Casting Competition on Sunday | 10am – 4pm
A fun-filled challenge for dads and kids to team up, test their casting skills, and maybe even win a prize! A great way to make memories together.
So come along, have a go, and enjoy a reel good time with the whole family!
Craft NI Workshops
Get crafty! Explore a vibrant hub of creativity where local artists and makers showcase their stunning handmade creations—perfect for unique gifts. Throughout the day, enjoy free craft workshops and live demonstrations in three locations across the Craft Village.
In Tent 1, watch the Ulster Woodturners bring wood to life with precision and passion. Over in Tent 2, see jeweller Joel Smyth craft contemporary pieces in the morning, followed by Redsmiths Forge in the afternoon, where Matthew and Caron shape beautiful copper works.
Come be inspired, get hands-on, and celebrate the artistry of Northern Ireland’s finest makers.


Bushcraft Adventures
Join Wild Walk Bushcraft Adventures for a journey into the prehistoric world!
Join our foraging walks to discover edible plants and hidden natural treasures growing all around us. Learn how to identify useful wild foods as you stroll through the grounds — a fascinating and relaxed experience with just a bit of gentle walking.
Get hands-on with fire craft, where you’ll learn how to create sparks and safely build and manage a fire using traditional techniques. It’s a fun and empowering session for all ages, though children must be accompanied by an adult.
Try your hand at primitive shelter building, working together to gather natural materials and construct a shelter just like our ancestors did. This active session involves some walking, lifting, and plenty of creative teamwork.
Whether you’re a budding survivalist or just looking for something different to enjoy with the kids, these sessions are a fantastic way to learn, explore, and have fun in the great outdoors!

Swing by Garden Show Ireland to see the hilariously hopeless “Really Rubbish Scarecrows” created by primary school pupils from across the country. These delightful scarecrows aren’t much good at scaring birds—but they’re brilliant at attracting attention!
From eco-friendly creations to the quirkiest, most imaginative designs, each scarecrow is competing for fun prizes like Best in Show and Best at Attracting Birds. Don’t miss this joyful, family-friendly display that’s full of charm, creativity, and a whole lot of rubbish!
Mini Golf and Bubble Bike
Putt your way through a mini golf course that’s blooming with fun! Perfect for all ages, this playful attraction adds a splash of competition to the day out. Whether you’re a seasoned mini golfer or a first-time putter, come take on the challenge and enjoy some light-hearted fun in a beautiful setting.
The magical Bubble Bike will be roaming the showgrounds, leaving a trail of sparkling bubbles and delight wherever it goes. A hit with children (and the young at heart!), it’s a must-see moment of whimsy that brings joy and colour to your day at Garden Show Ireland.


Pooch Patch by Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary
Bring your four-legged friend along to the ultimate doggy destination at Garden Show Ireland! The Pooch Patch is a tail-wagging haven filled with fun, treats, and plenty of space for pups to play. Don’t miss the highlight of the weekend — our fabulous Dog Show, where pooches of all shapes and sizes can strut their stuff for prizes and paw-some glory. Whether you’re a dog lover, pet owner, or just looking for family-friendly fun, the Pooch Patch is the paw-fect stop!
Wheelbarrow Garden Challenge
For the first time ever, we are thrilled to present the David Domoney Wheelbarrow Garden Challenge — and you’re invited to be part of the fun!
Come along and explore a spectacular display of 40 wheelbarrow gardens, each one designed and planted by local schools, charities, clubs, and community groups, all taking part in this creative new competition.
This year’s theme? Movies!
From Jurassic Park jungles to Star Wars galaxies and fairy-tale forests, each miniature garden brings a favourite film to life — all within the bounds of a humble wheelbarrow.
Cast your vote for your favourite design and help crown the People’s Choice Winner! A celebration of creativity, biodiversity, and the magic of gardening in small spaces — it’s fun for all ages, and you won’t want to miss it!


Food and Drink Experience
Garden Show Ireland isn’t just about flowers (though there will be plenty of those too!)
The Theatre Kitchen is returning to Garden Show Ireland this year brought to you in parnership with Food NI. Cooking demonstrations will be hosted by the wonderful Paula McIntyre and Brian Magill, bringing a delicious lineup of food and drink made from the best locally sourced produce.
From cocktail-making demos to mouth-watering snacks, the Theatre Kitchen offers a fantastic ‘Foodventure’ for all visitors to enjoy.
Get ready to taste, learn, and savour some truly delicious creations!
