Special Guest - Mark Diacono

“A Taste of the Unexpected” is in store for visitors to this year’s Allianz Garden Show Ireland! Mark Diacono who came to prominence leading the gardening team at River Cottage maintains that it is no harder to grow the unusual and utterly delicious than it is the entirely ordinary.

His smallholding, Otter Farm, is unique. Among the many delicious foods he grows, you’ll find many all-but unique in Europe: pecans, sansho pepper, Nepalese pepper and hickories to name but a few.  You’ll also find kiwis, sweet cicely, mulberries, quince, almonds and Szechuan pepper.

At the Show he’ll be giving advice on how we can all easily grow the unusual, and create amazing recipes with the results.

Mark will also be doing book-signings with some of his award winning books, including A Year at Otter Farm and A Taste of the Unexpected (which both won Food Book of the Year and The New Kitchen Garden, which won Garden Book of the Year).
