Sing for Life

Allianz Garden Show Ireland is delighted to welcome the Sing for Life community choir to the Show on Sunday 7 May as yet another strand in the 2017 ‘art in the garden’ focus on our heritage.

Developed in partnership by Cancer Focus Northern Ireland and The Crescent Arts Centre, the Choir was established in September 2012 for anyone affected by cancer.  The Belfast based choir provides the opportunity to meet others living with cancer, share time together in a supportive and friendly environment, and learn new skills in choral singing.

Approximately 75 members attend a weekly 2hr practice session at the Moravian Church, University Road, Belfast.  No singing experience is required to join.  The choir’s repertoire includes upbeat and uplifting songs and is open for invites to perform at events. Research has shown that singing in a choir can be extremely therapeutic for cancer patients helping to improve quality of life and self-esteem, and assist with pain relief and coping with depression.

Have a listen to this amazing choir …
