Primary school winners’ day out planting!

Primary school prize winners who took part in Garden Show Ireland in May had a special day out at CAFRE Greenmount College where they learnt to make up troughs of cyclamens to take back to their schools. The winning schools also received magnificent trees kindly donated by CAFRE Greenmount.

Allianz Scarecrow Wood at the 2014 Garden Show Ireland in May was populated with a wonderful selection of scarecrows produced by children from Integrated Primary Schools around Northern Ireland, including sporting heroes such as overall winner “Tony McCoy” created by Maine Integrated Primary School and described by the Judges as “stand out, clever, great effort and design”. Pictured below are pupils from Maine with the cyclamen trough they created.

Award winners, including  pupils (pictured below) from Cairnshill Primary and Rathenraw Integrated Primary enjoyed their planting!
