Meditation Garden invites a new way of thinking!

Chelsea Gold Medallist, Ian Price’s ‘Meditation Garden’ created by Ian in association with AWARE, Northern Ireland’s charity for Depression, will be a focal point for training our minds to be equipped to deal with the many challenges of life. This is something close to Ian’s heart having travelled through periods of his life in dark depression. Ian recognises the help and support that he has received from AWARE in his own struggle to contain his demons.

AWARE delivers mental health and well-being programmes, including Mindfulness sessions, in communities and workplaces. The charity has an established network of support groups across Northern Ireland run by trained volunteers, who welcome people with depression and bipolar disorder as well as carers for people with the illness.

Each day at the Show AWARE will be giving visitors a taste of how to train our minds to be able to cope with the many challenges of life. A mindfulness workshop, ‘Paws B’, designed for 7-11 year olds will take place each day of the Show at 12 noon. Parents and grandparents, and everyone interested will be welcome to join the children and enjoy these fascinating workshops.

The design of the ‘Meditation Garden’ has inspirational ideas on how to use your garden as a place to reflect and find ways to break through the mental and physical barriers of life.

We are interested to hear your views on how gardening can influence mental and physical well-being, and would be delighted if you would take the time to complete this short survey.

To thank you for your time, we are giving our readers the chance of winning a pair of tickets to Allianz Garden Show Ireland (children under 16 go free so this equates to a family pass). Please leave your email address at the end of the survey. Winners will be notified on Monday 30th April 2018.
