Farmer Florists – Alison Drennan

Alison Drennan from www.beechfieldflowerfarm.co.uk - One of our Farmer Florists

Alison’s Beechfield Flower Farm is situated in the Village of Tobermore in Mid-Ulster.

Alison has been in the Horticulture trade for over 10 years but in the past 3 years has been focusing her attention on the growing and arranging of Cut Flowers. This has long been a passion for Alison and the business has been growing year on year.

Alison’s flowers start in late Spring with lots of Narcissi and Tulips and leads on to all the summer annual flowers associated with a cottage garden look including Sweet Pea, Cornflower, Cosmo, Ammi and Nigella.

Mid July sees the start of the Dahlia season on the farm and Alison is increasing her variety of these beautiful flowers which are seeing such a resurgence of interest.

The flowers that Alison grows are sold directly from the farm to selected florists and also used by Alison in the workshops held throughout the year and for the many brides that want seasonal flowers for their Wedding Day. This gives Alison the opportunity to incorporate what is looking good at that particular time of year in her wedding floristry design work.

Alison takes her inspiration from the natural world around us and loves to keep her floral designs very natural looking. She is keen to help inspire others to appreciate the beauty of the locally grown seasonal sustainable flowers.
