A Fabulous Programme of Food
Building on the success of 2016 Year of Food & Drink celebrations, the 2017 Show welcomes back Paula McIntyre as resident chef in the Food Pavilion.
Friday 5th May
11.30am – Picnicking with Paula
- Potted smoked mackerel, cucumber and lovage jelly, horseradish cream
- Smoked popcorn crusted crispy chicken
- Cornbread cooked on BBQ , grilled corn and kohlrabi slaw
- Rolled courgettes with homemade herb cheese and slow cooked tomatoes
1.30pm – BBQing & Beer tasting
- Slow smoked chicken – malted beer glaze, shredded in a salad with bbq pickled onions and beer bbq sauce
- Quick smoked trout, miso glaze, grilled broccoli, pak choy
- Bbq lamb escalope with hyssop and red wine salt, baked potatoes stuffed with slow smoked lamb shoulder
3.30pm – Afternoon Tea BBQ
- Gin and tonic cakes with grilled lemon and verbena icing
- BBQed pineapple, coconut biscuits, Chai spiced cream
- Roast Strawberry trifle jars, rose petal mousse, lavender sponge
- Gin Cocktail – iced tea, smoked orange and homemade lemonade
Saturday 6th May
11am – UTV’s Pamela Ballantine in conversation with Thane Prince
1.30pm – BBQ & Berries with Thane Prince
- Soy and Sesame salmon skewers with quinoa and miso
- Pork Satay skewers
- Berrymisu
2.30pm – BBQing & Beer tasting
- Slow smoked chicken – malted beer glaze, shredded in a salad with bbq pickled onions and beer bbq sauce
- Quick smoked trout, miso glaze, grilled broccoli, pak choy
