The Care in the Sun stand, jointly run by Cancer Focus Northern Ireland and Public Health Agency, will be at the show to hand out free sun safety resources e.g. sun cream and SPF lip balm to event goers.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in Northern Ireland (over 30% of all cancers) and is usually caused by over exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun or sunbeds. Care in the Sun was set up as part of the Northern Ireland Skin Cancer Prevention Strategy and aims to reduce the incidence of skin cancer, and deaths from it, in Northern Ireland.
A facial skin scanner will be also available at selected times during the event. The scanner shows damage already caused by the sun and advice will be offered on how best to protect your skin in the future at home and abroad.
We are all hoping for a sunny weekend so be sure to stop by the Care in the Sun stand.
