A tour of Northern Ireland’s diverse landscapes!

Hawthorn, Hedgehogs, Herons and more!

The ‘Best of Northern Ireland Eco Gardens’ on display at this year’s Show have been created by local councils to take visitors on an amazing tour of the diverse landscapes of this country with its varied habitats for wildlife and vegetation.

From the slopes of Slemish Mountain to the coast of the Ards Peninsula, along the Gobbins, around Lough Neagh, through the parks and gardens of the city of Belfast, visitors to Allianz Garden Show Ireland will be treated to a tour of the country’s diverse landscapes, and will be amazed by the diversity of wildlife and vegetation they include.

On the way, there’ll be surprises as well as ideas for our own gardens, from logs and fallen trees that house hedgehogs, frogs and insects, to wildflower meadows that attract bees, native tree plantings of oak, birch and hedging that give shelter to wild birds, as well as water features inspired by our loughs and rivers that host fish and insects – even a resident Heron that has arrived to look for them!

Families will come away with renewed interest and curiosity about some of Northern Ireland’s stunning landscapes, as well as information on how to bring some of those wildlife visitors and vegetation into our own gardens.
